To identify the Alpha Wreck by vessel name, its business, date of loss, owner’s name, its Captain and crew, and what happened to the people aboard ship that night. |

To discover as much as possible about how the system of water transportation worked on Lake Michigan for the Underground Railroad. The Briggs Team feels that those escaped slaves who traveled the road to freedom by ship are just as important as those who traveled
by foot. |
